Virender Sehwag overlooked as Grand Marshal at India Day parade in New York City; Arjun Rampal, Parineeti Chopra get the honours

Virender Sehwag will be at New York City for the India Day Parade which will be held on August 16. However, he will not be leading the parade as the ‘Grand Marshal’. The American Bazaar reports that in a baffling scenario, the honours for that have been given to Bollywood actors Arjun Rampal and Parineeti Chopra. Several sections of the Indian society have criticised this move of not having Sehwag as the ‘Grand Marshal’ and Sujeet Rajan, the editor-in-chief of The American Bazaar termed the organisers as “Bollywood-obsessed”. Irrespective of the honour denied to him at the parade, one thing is for sure that the loudest cheers at New York City will be reserved for the ‘Nawab of Najafgarh’.
