Swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag has called his former team-mate Zaheer Khan as “one of the largest hearted players” to have ever played the game. Sehwag, who is currently playing for Haryana in the Ranji Trophy, took to social networking site twitter when he learnt about Zaheer’s retirement. Zaheer had announced his retirement earlier in the morning by putting a two-page letter on his official Twitter handle. Twitter reactions: Zaheer Khan retires from international cricket

Sehwag, who was busy playing the Ranji trophy game in the morning, posted his wishes for the former India speedster on Twitter only in the evening. He wrote:

Playing against his former side Delhi, Sehwag was dismissed for 37 runs, that included five boundaries and a six. Ironically, he was run out by another Indian pacer Ishant Sharma, whose direct hit found him short of his crease. Ishant is the spearhead of Indian bowling in Test cricket, a position he has inherited from Zaheer.
