Virender Sehwag recalls the day when ‘Amitabh Bachchan defeated Yamraj’

On July 26 1982, Amitabh Bachchan while shooting for Manmohan Desai's Coolie suffered a freak near-fatal accident that resulted in an internal abdominal injury.

It was nothing short of a rebirth for Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan when he regained consciousness after a deadly accident while filming Coolie. August 2, Bachchan regards this day as his second birthday.

On July 26 1982, Bachchan while shooting for Manmohan Desai’s Coolie suffered a freak near-fatal accident that resulted in an internal abdominal injury. He was hospitalised and went into a coma-like situation and even clinically dead for a few minutes. On August 2, a week after the incident, he regained consciousness. 34 years have since passed and fans continue wishing the superstar on this “second birth”. Virender Sehwag is a huge Bachchan fan like many growing up kids in the 1970s and 80s. Like other fans, the cricket superstar too wished the iconic actor but of course, in his own unique way.
