Watch Mitchell Marsh’s ‘catch-of-the-summer’ to dismiss Stephen Cook

To be honest, it was not just any normal wicket, but a wicket which was next to impossible, which Mitchell Marsh somehow managed to pull off with his excellent athleticism.

With the start of another exciting Test series of the season between Australia and South Africa at Perth, Mitchell Marsh has began this summer of cricket with a bang by taking stunning catch and that too in the very first over of the match. Batting first, South Africa, who have been undefeated in last two Test series in Australia, lost their first wicket in the first over of the match in the form of opener Stephen Cook. To be honest, it was not just any normal wicket, but a wicket which was next to impossible, which Mitchell Marsh somehow managed to pull off with his excellent athleticism.

On the fourth delivery of the first over, Mitchell Starc bowled a back of a length delivery to Cook, which he tried to play in the line by defending it but ended up getting a thick edge. The ball fled between third slip and gully but Marsh dived to his left and plucked out a screamer from the thin air in a matter of a second. Well, despite describing this catch in above few lines, the best way of enjoying it will be to let the catch describe itself. Watch this brilliant effort by Marsh junior here:

Further, South Africa lost five wickets quickly against Australia. Starc and Josh Hazlewood scalped two wickets each, while Peter Siddle got one. From South African side, only skipper Faf du Plessis was the one to stay long among those out batsman as he scored 37, while Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock are currently at the crease and are going strong.
