Two of modern-day cricket’s most stylish and flamboyant players, Kevin Pietersen and Chris Gayle hit the headlines wherever they go. The duo recently caught up over a beer in Melbourne, Australia, where the two are busy playing in the Big Bash League (BBL). Both posted the same picture from their meeting through their official Instagram accounts. The captions, however, were different.
Pietersen wrote on his account, “kp24Sipping on some Corona’s with the #UniverseBoss – @chrisgayle333!”
On the other hand, the big-hitter from Jamaica wrote, “@kp24 – this is a better Hang Time than the catch you drop hanging.”
Gayle is appearing for the Melbourne Renegades while Pietersen is representing the Melbourne Stars team in BBL. Pietersen has been in a terrific form for quite some time. He had a brilliant run in the RamSlam tournament in South Africa and has continued to score in BBL as well.
Gayle also completed 600 sixes in the shortest format. It will be interesting to see how the two fare when their teams clash for a Melbourne derby.
