Switzerland and France will face off in a group E encounter which will see both sides entangle in a battle to book a spot in the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup 2014. France were on target in their tournament opener against Honduras. They cruised to a clinical 3-0 victory and Karim Benzema was on target. The Real Madrid forward scored a brace and was equally involved in setting up the other goal too, which was a landmark with goal-line technology coming into play for the first time in FIFA World Cups.

Switzerland have seen quite a few encounters against neighbours France in recent years. They were pitted against each other in the same group in the 2006 World Cup too, where the resolute Swiss defence stood firm against legends Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane. Like that encounter in Germany, Salvador should also witness a keenly contested battle. Switzerland also got off to a winning start in FIFA World Cup 2014, after romping home in the dying minutes of the game against Ecuador.
