Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Day One of the tour match between Australians and Derbyshire at Derby. Australia have a lot to look forward to, having trounced England in the second Test of The Ashes 2015. Sadly for Australia, Chris Rogers is still injured after getting a blow to the head off the bowling of James Anderson. However, as reported by AFP, a Cricket Australia statement said, Chris saw another specialist in London this [Wednesday] morning who confirmed an injury to his vestibular [balance] system in his inner ear. Chris’s condition continues to improve but he will remain in London for further tests and specialized treatment. We are hopeful that he will be available for selection for the third Test.”

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 413/9 in Overs 90: Shane Watson fell for 61 and Australians have lost wickets in heaps since then. Their tailenders have not been able to get runs, still it can be considered a good batting effort since they have crossed the 400-run mark. BATTING: Pat Cummins 21 (22), Fawad Ahmed 4 (3)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 337/6 in Overs 77: Mitchell Marsh fell after scoring a half-century. He scored 53 off 81 balls, striking eight boundaries and a six. Shane Watson has picked up well, and he is trying to get runs briskly. BATTING: Brad Haddin 4 (19), Shane Watson 44 (31)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 302/5 in Overs 71: Peter Nevill fell for one run to Derbyshire bowler Will Davis as the tourists have stuttered a little bit. Shane Watson has walked out in the middle and is batting alongwith Mitchell Marsh, who has completed a half-century. BATTING: Mitchell Marsh 53 (79), Shane Watson 15 (14)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 276/4 in Overs 64: Shaun Marsh has walked off after scoring a century and he has made a very strong statement here. Mitchell Marsh and Peter Nevill are batting for Australia at the moment. BATTING: Mitchell Marsh 42 (60), Peter Nevill 1 (3)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 228/3 in Overs 54: David Warner got retired out after scoring a splendid century, but there are some worries for Australia. Michael Clarke fell for 16 and his poor run will be a huge concern for them. Shaun Marsh going strong for now. BATTING: Mitchell Marsh 14 (29), Shaun Marsh 84 (149)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 132/0 in Overs 29: The second string Derbyshire team has not been able to create any sorts of troubles for these two Australians who have made merry so far on this wicket. David Warner has started to look very dangerous, he is only a few runs away from a crucial century. Marsh has been quiet as ever. Lunch has been taken on Day 1. BATTING: David Warner 87 (92), Shaun Marsh 39 (84)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 83/0 in Overs 20: Warner and Marsh are close to bring up a century stand for the opening wicket. Warner is coming back into form and these are ominous signs for their opponents, especially England, who are yet to have their top three scoring runs. BATTING: David Warner 54 (67), Shaun Marsh 26 (54)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 61/0 in Overs 14: It’s been a good day for Australia so far. They were without Chris Rogers, but Marsh and Warner have started off in a fine passion. If Marsh goes on to get a big one here, selection issues will surely create more headache for the selectors. BATTING: David Warner 41 (49), Shaun Marsh 19 (36)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE AUSTRALIANS 47/0 in Overs 8: David Warner seems to be coming back t0 form as he has slammed five boundaries so far and has looked very aggressive. Shaun Marsh has opened with Warner and he is relatively quiet at the moment. Steady start this from Australia. BATTING: David Warner 35 (38), Shaun Marsh 11 (17)

David Warner was recently under fire for not applauding after Joe Root scored a ton in the first Test, but he claimed to have done so to Cricket Australia. He said, “If the camera had stayed on me for the five minutes that he celebrated they’d have seen me clap alongside all the other guys. The captions they use are always going to be a snapshot of you doing something, and the time that photo was taken was probably a minute-and-a-half after he raised his bat. We all clap, we always do and we always will continue acknowledging people’s knocks.”
