A cliff-hanger against Tamil Nadu helped them reach 14 points, 4 clear of Punjab, who are placed second in Group B. Led by Aditya Tare, Mumbai boast of Shreyas Iyer, Abhishek Nayar, Suryakumar Yadav, Harmeet Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Shardul Thakur. Baroda, on the other hand, are placed fifth on the table, and would certainly want to push their home advantage. They will be looking at the likes of Yusuf Pathan, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Bhargav Bhatt, and Gagandeep Singh.

After trailing in the first innings, the 40-times champions bounced back in style. They bowled out the visitors for a total of 95 in the second innings and chased down the target of 236 on the final day, courtesy of Shreyas Iyer’s explosive innings of 83 from 71 balls.
Mumbai’s tournament took off on a low, when they conceded a 6-run first innings lead to Andhra at their den. They turned things around against Punjab at Wankhede: Thakur and Balwinder Sandhu bowled the tourists out for 154 before Iyer hit the fourth-fastest double-hundred by an Indian. With Tare also scoring a rapid 137, Mumbai had enough time to declare with a 415-run lead before Akhil Herwadkar bowled them to an innings victory. They conceded a 140-run lead to Tamil Nadu before Vishal Dabholkar fought back, skittling the tourists for 95. Chasing 236 they eventually won by 1 wicket after being 202 for 4 at one time.
Baroda, too, had a close match against Tamil Nadu at Chepauk. Unfortunately, they lost by 7 runs after securing a 34-run lead. The Railways match at home belonged to Pandya, whose 64 and 8 for 91 (match figures) helped the hosts win by an innings. Unfortunately, after Kedar Devdhar and Swapnil Patil took them to 302 at Vizianagram, Andhra piled up 474 for 6, batting them out of the match.
