Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the fourth day of the third and final Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan at Pallekele. This is Pramod Ananth, and I will be presenting to you the updates from the day’s play.
The Pakistanis were bowled out for a score of 215, with wicketkeeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed (78 not out) and Azhar Ali (52) scoring more than half of the runs for their team, as they conceded a 63-run lead. The hosts however, were in for some early damage as Rahat Ali and Ehsan Adil tore through the top-order, with Sri Lanka reeling at 35 for three.
Skipper Angelo Mathews (77 not out) and Upul Tharanga (48) however, saved their team from the blushes as the hosts recovered to a score of 228 for the loss of five wickets at the end of day’s play, gaining a lead of 291 in the process.
