Good Morning and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2015-16. We will bring you live updates of the six matches, which begin in the morning. This tournament is India’s domestic T20 competition. The recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015-16 was the India’s domestic one-day tournament, which was won by Gujarat. The First-Class tournament, which happens to be the Ranji Trophy has entered the quarter-final stage and the matches will be played some time in February 2016. The matches that we are going to bring you live updates of are: Bengal vs Hyderabad, Gujarat vs Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan vs Punjab, Andhra vs Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai vs Odisha and Maharashtra vs Uttar Pradesh.

Odisha vs Mumbai: Mumbai Won !

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Mumbai 95/4 in 15.5 overs; BATTING: Abhishek Nayar 31(30), Siddhesh Lad 5(3): And an easy victory for Mumbai. It was a combined effort from the batsmen as Aditya Tare and Siddhesh Lad scored beyond 30 and that was enough for the team to pick up the victory.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Odisha 91 in 17.1 overs; BATTING: Basant Mohanty 0(0): The Odisha innings came to an end with a low score of 91. The Mumbai bowlers did really well and the score is easy to chase. All the bowlers have got a couple of wickets each while Shardul Thakur has got the best economy of 3.67. For Odisha, Abhishek Yadav remained the highest scorer with 33 runs.

Punjab vs Rajasthan: Rajasthan won!

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Punjab 133/6 in 19.4 overs; BATTING: D H Yagnik 23(18), AR Singh 0(0): The top order of Rajasthan’s batting line-up failed badly but it was middle order batsman R K Bishnoi scored 58 off 32 deliveries with 4 fours and 4 sixes and helped Rajasthan clinch the triumph.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Punjab 130/6 in 20 overs; BATTING: Mandeep Singh 76(52), Gurinder Singh 29(28): Punjab put up a par score of 130 for Rajasthan to chase. While their skipper and star performer Yuvraj Singh failed, Mandeep Singh played a quickfire 52-ball 76. The innings had 7 fours and 3 sixes in it. Amongst the Rajasthan bowlers, Rajat Bhatia was the most successful with 2 wickets for 16 runs.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Punjab 40/5 in 9 overs; BATTING: Mandeep Singh 23(23), Siddharth Kaul 2(3): Punjab are in deep trouble at the moment, with the Rajasthan bowlers running through the top-order to reduce them to a paltry score of 40 for the loss of five wickets at the end of the ninth over. Rajat Bhatia is the leading wicket-taker in the innings so far, having taking two wickets while conceding a mere five runs in a destructive spell.

 

 

Bengal vs Hyderabad:

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Bengal 185/4 in 20 overs; BATTING: Ravi Kiran 3(4): After a stunning performance by the batsmen, the Bengal bowlers also did very well as they bundled the Hyderabad side for 124. Only Akshath Reddy scored a good 32 off 18 but could not see his team win. Mohammad Shami and Pragyan Ojha both took 3 wickets each for Bengal.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Bengal 185/4 in 20 overs; BATTING: Wriddhiman Saha 81(47), Manoj Tiwari 29(21): An awesome innings by Wriddhiman Saha helped Bengal get to a massive total of 185. Saha scored 47-ball 81 with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes while Sayan Shekhar Mandal supported him well with his 50.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Bengal 92/0 in 10 overs; BATTING: Wriddhiman Saha 64(34), Sayan Mandal 21(26): Bengal are off to a terrific start, racing to 92 for no loss in just 10 overs. Wriddhiman Saha is batting on 64 off just 34 balls, having decimated the opposition attack so far in the innings with five sixes and as many fours!

 

 

Gujarat vs Himachal: Himachal won!

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Himachal 152/5 in 20 overs; BATTING: PS Chopra 89(62), AK Rana 2(4): With Chopra’s 62-ball 89, Himachal cruise towards their victory. Chopra hit 7 fours and 2 sixes in the innings. The other mentionable performance came from Paras Dogra who scored 36 off 23

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Gujarat 152/5 in 20 overs; BATTING: PK Panchal 19(19), MC Juneja 8(9): With a combined help of Parthiv Patel, Priyank Panchal and Rujul Bhatt, Gujarat have put up a total 152. The total is decent but can be chased.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Gujarat 66/1 in 9 overs; BATTING: PK Panchal 19(19), MC Juneja 8(9): Gujarat are off to a good start following Parthiv Patel’s quickfire innings of 35 off 26 deliveries, containing five boundaries, before getting bowled off the bowling of Chauhan.

The above mentioned matches will begin at 9 AM and the remaining six matches will begin from 1 PM. Gujarat won the tournament in the previous edition, beating Punjab by one wicket in a nail-biting match. Gujarat already having won the Vijay Hazare trophy will go into the competition full of confidence. Their skipper Parthiv Patel is in good form and will look to carry on his good form in this tournament as well. Tirumalasetti Suman was the leading run-scorer in the previous edition of the tournament with 361 runs at an average of just over 40. Manan Vohra had a decent tournament too and scored 308 runs.

Rohit Dahiya of Gujarat was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up a total of 17 wickets with an economy rate of 6.53. Chama Milind of Hyderabad too picked up 17 wickets in the tournament. There were a total of four centuries scored in the tournament with Jaskaranveer Singh of Punjab top-scoring with an unbeaten 114.
