Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Bengal and Saurashtra, Group D match of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015-16. Both the sides have played four games each with Bengal registering one win, while Saurashtra have managed two wins out of their four games. The latter stand fourth on the Group D points table where Uttar Pradesh are the table toppers withnfour victories from five games. On the other hand, Bengal are just above Goa who are at the bottom of the table. Madhya Pradesh beat Bengal by five wickets in their previous fixture. Batting first, Bengal posted a first innings total of 262 with opening batsman Sayan Mondal top scoring for his side with 88 run in 109 balls. In reply to that, Madhya Pradesh comfortably chased down the target with 19 balls to spare. Meanwhile, Saurashtra lost their previous match by five wickets to Uttar Pradesh.

Live Cricket Score: Saurashtra 244/4 | Overs 45 | Target 244 | BATSMEN: Cheteshwar Pujara 31(37), Chirag Jani 9(9): Pujara and Jani remained unbeaten as Saurashtra succesfully defeated Bnegal by six wickets. Samarth Vyas top scored for them who missed a century by just six runs. After the dimsissal of the openers of Saurashtra, Pujara took charge and he ensured his side won the game. With this victory, Jaydev Shah’s men have earned crucial four points.

Debabrata Das got him run out on the last delivery of the 27th over. That wicket was followed by fall of three quick wickets and suddenly Saurashtra were 202 for 4. The last batsman to get out was Ravindra Jadeja. He scored 10 from 16 balls before giving Bengal’s Sudip Chatterjee an easy catch. From here, Saurashtra need another 27 rusn to win. OUT! Saurashtra 108/0 in 23 overs | Sheldon Jackson 40(61), Samarth Vyas 62(77): Saurashtra haven’t lost a wicket yet. Bengal have managed to cut the run flow but that’s not enough. Both Jackson and Vyas are helping Saurashtra march towards a win.

Saurashtra 58/0 in 11 overs | Sheldon Jackson 23(31), Samarth Vyas 31(35): Saurashtra have got off to a good start and Jackson continues his good form. They haven’t lost a wicket yet and if these aren’t good signs for Bengal.


Bengal 242/5 in 50 overs | LR Shukla 23(25), D Das 15(16): Bengal will not be happy with the total they got. They were cruising at one stage and looked set for a score in excess of 250. Shukla and Debabrata Das couldn’t help Bengal get to that. It has been a disciplined efford by both the Jadejas representing Saurashtra.
