Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015-16 tournament, between Mumbai and Assam at Hyderabad. Mumbai got off to an excellent start after they won their first match of the competition against Punjab, but suffered a loss in their next match against Tamil Nadu. Mumbai will want to bounce back against Assam and not make it two losses in a row. Assam on the other hand have lost most their matches, including a narrow one-wicket loss against Rajasthan. Akhil Herwadkar scored a brilliant century in the previous match but could not prevent his side from losing the match. They will want a good performance, which is led by Shreyas Iyer and skipper Aditya Tare.Krishna Das, Arup Das, Pritam Das and Pallav Kumar Das picked up two wicket each in the previous match against Rajasthan. Pallav Kumar Das top-scored for Assam with a score of 37. They will need everyone else to step up to the plate if their team has to get a bog score on the board.
Mumbai have had a fantastic time in the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 group stage. They finished top pf their group with Shreyas leading the run-scorers chart with 930 runs to his name. Assam too have made it to the quarter-final stage and have put in good performance throughout the tournament. They will look to carry on the momentum in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well.
