Live Cricket Score England 240/7 in 89.2 0vers: Ben Stokes departs after getting caught by Shai Hope at gully to depart for a score of 22 off 45 deliveries. Shannon Gabriel gets his second scalp of the day in the process. Jos Buttler is the new man to walk to the crease, with Cook batting in the nervous 90s on the other end. The England captain finally brings up the much-awaited milestone that had been eluding him for two years — that of a Test century. Sends the first ball of the 88th over towards mid-wicket for a four. Cook is ecstatic after reaching the milestone, and punches the air in the process. And he has every reason to do so — having endured critics and a loss of form for so long. Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the first day’s play of the third and the final Test between the West Indies and England, at Bridgetown in Barbados on Friday. PREVIEW: West Indies vs England 3rd Test Day 1

England lead the three-match Test series against the West Indies 1-0 when they won the second Test by nine wickets at St George’s, Grenada. The win in the second Test was England’s first overseas Test win in 29 months, and they would certainly have been pleased with the effort.

All eyes will be on the young English duo of Joe Root and Garry Ballance, who have been scoring prolifically this series. Both Root and Ballance have slammed two half-centuries and a century each, and averaging 96 and 116 respectively.

For the hosts, Marlon Samuels, Kraigg Brathwaite and even Jermaine Blackwood have been the men to watch out for with the bat. Their venerable Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been going through a rough patch, and it will be crucial for him to get some much-needed runs.

This match will be the final clash on this tour, as England will head back home to take on New Zealand and West Indies will prepare for the Australians who will be visiting the Caribbean shores next.

Squads:

West Indies: Denesh Ramdin (c&wk), Devon Smith, Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Jermaine Blackwood, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Jerome Taylor, Kemar Roach, Devendra Bishoo, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Shannon Gabriel, Carlos Brathwaite.

England: Alastair Cook (c), Jonathan Trott, Gary Ballance, Joe Root, Ian Bell, Jos Buttler (wk), Adam Lyth, Adil Rashid, James Tredwell, James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Chris Jordan, Ben Stokes, Mark Wood, Jonathan Bairstow.
