Virat Kohli criticised BCCI for India’s gruelling schedule ahead of the much-awaited South Africa tour. India are currently preparing green pitches for the ongoing three-Test series against Sri Lanka, as they race against time to prepare for the overseas assignments. Interestingly, AB de Villiers took a jibe on India’s strategy of preparing green turfs. He believes the ploy may backfire as they won’t be up against the same bowlers in seamer-friendly conditions.

‘They’ll face guys that come from here and know which area to bowl’

“It might help them but India have got to remember that they won t face the same bowlers. They ll face guys that come from here and know in which areas to bowl. It s easy to overthink these situations. In the end, it s just about getting onto the field and achieving results. Being in a country for a month before playing a series is ideal but it s unrealistic, especially with our current schedules.

If you re prepared to do that (come earlier), you won t be at home for many days of the year. Virat is a disciplined and adaptable guy. If he believes that s the best way for India to prepare for tours, they must investigate the possibility.”

Continuous cricket for Team India

Team India have been playing continuous cricket this year. They have played a total of 11 Tests (including Feroz Shah Kotla match). In addition, they will complete 29 ODIs and 14 T20Is by the end of 2017.
