Adam Voges with an average of 542 has registered the highest average for ant batsman against one particular opposition. Voges made his debut against West Indies earlier this year and has amassed a total of 542 runs in four innings. He has been dismissed only once in his four innings so far. He scored his highest score of 269 not out in the first Test at Hobart in the ongoing series and has struck another unbeaten ton in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne to further bolstered his average. Second in the list happens to be former South African Jacques Rudolph, who has an average of 293 against Bangladesh in 2003. Voges has also score 1208 runs this year with his teammates Steven Smith and David Warner being the others from Australia, who have managed to score more than 1,000 runs this year. Voges was also part of the Ashes 2015, where he managed to score just a couple of half-centuries. He followed it up with a good series against New Zealand at home, where he he managed to score century in the second Test at Perth.
Voges will have another innings to improve his average when he gets a chance to bat on Day Four of the Boxing Day Test. He averages well over 80 in his career at the moment and will look to end the year with yet another huge score. Voges is also the oldest player to score a maiden Test ton, when he achieved this feat this on his debut against West Indies at Roseau. He was 35 years 242 days when he achieved this incredible feat.
