Aditya Tare to lead Mumbai in the upcoming Ranj Trophy season 2015-16 and left-arm spinner Vishal Dabholkar has been recalled after he was dropped from the team last year due to bad form as Mumbai Cricket Association announced its squad on Sunday. Meanwhile, Dabholkar earned a place after his match-winning performance of six for 46 that guided MCA Colts to beat TNCA Districts XI by six wickets in the off-season Buchi Babu All India Invitation Cricket Tournament final in Chennai last month. The inclusion of Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Harmeet Singh and Dhawal Kulkarni did not come as a surprise. According to DNA, All-rounder Abhishek Raut found himself in the team too, following his impressive show in practice games in Hyderabad recently. “He is a good batsman and leg-spinner. He is also a good fielder. He did well in the practice games in Hyderabad,” said a Mumbai cricket offficial.
Dabholkar’s place in the team is confirmed for the first two games, that are against Andhra Pradesh and Punjab scheduled from October 1 to 4 and October 8 to 11 respectively. The 28-year-old, who took eight wickets from five matches and eight innings last season, was sidelined after he returned with the figures of 0 for 58 against Tamil Nadu on a turning track of Chepauk. Mumbai lost the league game by an innings and 44 runs. READ: Shreyas Iyer: Rahul Dravid advised me to play according to my instincts
