In a bizarre 50-over match between Singapore and Afghanistan in Group B match of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, the Afghanistan team wrapped up the match in 4.1 overs in their innings ,while chasing 74 for a win at Kaluthara, Sri Lanka. After winning the toss Singapore were bowled out for just 73 in 18.2 overs, which included as many as 24 extras. Yuvraj Singh, skipper Janak Prakash and Aman Desai were the only batsmen, who went past double figures. Yousuf Zazai and Mujeeb were the pick of the bowlers, finishing with four wickets apiece. In reply, Afghanistan finished the match after facing just 25 deliveries, with their opener Darwish Rasooli remaining unbeaten on a 15-ball 53.

Naveed Obdai was the only man dismissed for a 4-ball 10. Rasooli struck as many as nine fours and two of sixes in his innings of 15-ball 53. The entire Singapore team on the other hand hit just eight boundaries in their innings. Afghanistan scored at an incredible run-rate of 18 at a time when they needed to score at well under two to win the match. Afghanistan having lost their first match against Bangladesh, have bounced back well to win their next two games. Singapore on the other hand have lost all the three matches and are out of the competition.

The semi-finals of the tournament will be played on December 21 and 22. The final will be played on the December 23 at Colombo (RPS). As many as eight teams, including India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Pakistan and Nepal participated in the tournament. The eight-day tournament began on December 15.
