Victories haven’t come so easily from what has been seen over the first few first-round ties. Afghanistan might be more strong on paper, but they can’t get complacent. They will look to repeat their performance with the bat and get two out of two wins. On the contrary, Hong Kong played decently well against Zimbabwe, but couldn’t bat well and were ultimately left with too many runs to get at the end. Tanvir Afzal, Hong Kong’s skipper, was confident of putting up a decent show against Afghanistan when they face them at Nagpur. Tanvir said, “We’ve played against Afghanistan two to three times in the last few months, and only lost the last game. We are in a really good position and I think that we can repeat the history of our previous results. If you see our batting maturity, we have Ryan Campbell and Jamie Atkinson back in our side, so I think that we are in a position to beat them.”
