England go to tea on Day Four at 261 for four and have secured a lead of 127 runs against New Zealand in the first Test at Lord’s. Alastair Cook and Ben Stokes have managed to survive the deliveries going into Tea as rain has stopped play. Cook scored his 27 Test ton and Joe Root scored a magnificent 84 earlier in the day but hiss innings was cut short as he played the ball straight to fine leg’s hands off the bowling of Matt Henry. Cook, who was under severe pressure going into this match has managed to answer his critics to a certain extent. Tim Southee, Matt Henry and Trent Boult are the wicket-takers for New Zealand. The Kiwis will want to pick up a few more wickets in the final session once play resumes. New Zealand scored 523, with Kane Williamson scoring 132. England still have a strong batting line-up with the likes of Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali to follow. This is the first of two Test series.
