India will face New Zealand in the final of Champions Trophy 2025. It is the first time since the 2000 ICC Knockout Trophy that both the teams will be locking horns with each other in the final of an ICC white-ball event.
Rohit Sharma is going to have his future planned according to the outcome of this match. Shubman Gill, who had some interactions with the media on the eve of final, addressed this question about Rohit’s retirement.
“We have not discussed it. All the chatter and the discussion are about winning the match. And what we have to do to win the match. He has not spoken to the team about this or to me. I think Rohit is thinking about winning the final as well. I think he is focusing on winning the Champions Trophy first. I think, once the match gets over tomorrow, he will take a call, but I have not heard of this from anyone in the team,” he said.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had already taken retirement from T20I cricket after the team won the 2024 World Cup. It is yet to be seen whether any one of them will decide to hang their boots from ODI cricket as well.
