All India Buchi Babu tournament 2014: Akshar Patel and Hemings Patel shine for Gujarat

Gujarat left arm spinners Hemings Patel (five for 97) and Akshar Patel (four for 110) shared the bulk of the wickets as their team beat Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), while Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) openers Tanmay Agarwal and Aksheth Reddy put on 195 runs to record an emphatic 10-wicket win over Tamil Nadu Cricket Association City XI (TNCA City XI) in the All-India Buchi Babu Memorial Invitational Cricket tournament.

Mumbai batsmen wilted under pressure while chasing a mammoth Gujarat total of 427. From a position of strength at 319 for three, Mumbai lost seven wickets in space of 66 balls scoring 46 runs as they were all-out for 365.

Gujarat 427 for six in 100 overs (Priyank Panchal 122, Bhargav Merai 81, Akshar Patel 70 ; Ankush Jaiswal three for 107) beat Mumbai 365 in 94.3 overs (Siddhesh Lad 145, Nikhil Patil Jr 48 ; Hemings Patel five for 97, Axar Patel four for 110) by 62 runs. Points : Gujarat 4 ; Mumbai 0
