Amit Mishra has said that he needs to keep performing to make a return to the Indian Test side. The leg-spinner has been a part of the One-Day International (ODI) squad and got his opportunity on the tour to Zimbabwe — where he was very successful with 18 wickets in the five match series.
Speaking to Times of India, Mishra said, “I worked hard on my googlies and that’s paying rich dividends. As a leg-spinner, it’s important that I work on my body as well, which I have done rigorously during my stay at the NCA last year,”
When asked about his plans for a return to Test cricket, Mishra said, “That will be a big challenge. But I have to keep performing all the time and stay in the selectors’ radar if I have to make the Test team.”
As of now, Mishra is eyeing the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Champions League T20 (CLT20) campaign even as his domestic side, Haryana is playing the Buchi Babu tournament. “I might play Buchi Babu if Haryana make the semifinals. If not, I will start preparing for the Champions League,” Mishra said.
