It was a controversial statement by James Anderson on the Indian captain Virat Kohli after the end of fourth day’s play during the fourth Test, which brought him in the news. Former cricketers like Graeme Smith and Inzamam-ul-Haq lashed out at Anderson for his comments and backed Kohli. Anderson’s comments were made after the latter scored a stunning 235 against England during the fourth Test at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. “I’m not sure he’s changed. I just think any technical deficiencies he’s got aren’t in play out here. The wickets just take that out of the equation,” said Anderson after he was asked over Kohli’s batting technique.
Anderson’s comments were highly criticised by many cricketers, while Kohli asked him to “move on”. On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin went furious over this and told the England pacer that he should understand the “importance of accepting defeat”. The latest to join the bandwagon of those criticising Anderson is Amul, who came up with a hilarious advertisement of their products with a caricature and have managed to live to their reputation. Amul’s latest topical on the matter says, ‘Jimmy, we can’t Anderstand you!” That was really an impressive way of playing around someone’s name and further added more to it, “VI rate it highly!” VI stands for Virat Kohli here.

Anderson has taken only four wickets from three Tests that he played in this series, which is poor as per his standards. He is also not the part of playing XI in the fifth Test. England have already lost the series with India leading 3-0.
