Vijayawada: Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) announced cash awards for its teams under various age groups for their performance in 2014-15 season. In a press release here, ACA Secretary and Member of Parliament G Ganga Raju informed that all the ten teams of the association participated in different age groups (men & women) and qualified for all-India knock-out stage by finishing either first or second at the league stage.
After a gap of 6 seasons, Andhra Ranji team qualified for the Elite Group (now called Group A & Group B) for the next year. The team will be participating in Ranji Trophy knock-out stage beginning from February 15. For the laudable performance of the Ranji team, ACA announced a cash prize of Rs 15 lakh for it.
The Andhra U-23 team qualified for the all-India knock -out by becoming Plate Group B Champions and will be playing against Himachal Pradesh in a match beginning from February 10. ACA announced a cash award of Rs 6 lakh for the team.
The U-19 men’s teams did well in both One-dayers and 4-day matches and for they will get Rs 5 lakh each. The U-16 team, which became South Zone runners-up, will get Rs 4 lakh.

In the women section, the senior team qualified for the all-India knock-out stage of the One-day limited overs tournament and lost in the semi-finals but qualified for Elite Group next year. It will get Rs 5 lakh, the release added.
