Andhra Pradesh kickstarted their campaign on a resounding note with medium pacers GVS Prasad and Vision Panchal sharing ten wickets to humble Bengal by 10 wickets on the first of their two-day opening round league match in the Buchi Babu memorial cricket tournament.

Bengal were dismissed for paltry 80 runs in 42.2 overs with Andhra medium-pacer Prasad claiming 5 for 26 and Panchal 5 for 37. Andhra replied without losing their openers and KS Bharat made an unbeaten 57 to record a superb win. In some other highlights of the first day’s play amongst the six matches, Vishnu Vinod 160 was a notable knock, Suresh Kumar of TNCA Districts struck a fine 128, Gujarat’s Priyank Panchal also hit a belligerent 122.
