All-rounder Angelo Matthews returned to the Sri Lanka squad for the second and the final Test against England after recovering from a calf injury but the medium pacer will not be available to bowl.
Sri Lanka’s chief selector Ashantha de Mel Saturday said Matthews will be replacing Chamara Silva while injured pacer Chanaka Welegedara made way for Shaminda Eranga in the 14-member squad.
“Mathews has been declared fit and we have brought him in but he will not bowl. Welegedera bowled with some discomfort during the Galle Test and a scan revealed that he had strained his groin,” de Mel said.
The second Test starts here Tuesday. Sri Lanka won the first Test in Galle by 75 runs. (IANS)
