Angelo Mathews retained as Test, ODI skipper, Lasith Malinga to lead in T20Is for Sri Lanka

Colombo: Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) national Selectors have reappointed Angelo Mathews as the captain for the Test and one-day squads. Mathews’ appointment starts from upcoming tour of Pakistan till the conclusion of Sri Lanka‘s tour to England next year. Mathews can overtake Tendulkar, feels SL’s outgoing cricket manager

Fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been appointed to lead the national Twenty 20 squad with immediate effect till the conclusion of Sri Lanka’s title defense at the ICC World Twenty 20 to be played in India in 2016. Tourism and Sports Minister Navin Dissanayake has approved the decision, reports the Colombo Page.

Earlier, Champaka Ramanayake replaced Chaminda Vaas as Sri Lanka’s fast bowling coach, Sri Lanka Cricket. Ramanayake will be in charge for the next three international home series against Pakistan, India and the West Indies.
