Anil Kumble: India have strong chances of winning in West Indies

Recently-appointed Indian coach Anil Kumble has said his side will go into the West Indies tour with a lot of confidence, which comes from their last win in the Caribbean. India will be playing a four-Test series in West Indies starting July 21, which will be the first assignment for Kumble as the coach, for which he has been hired for the next one year. Kumble said the Indian cricket team will be a confident bunch going to the West Indies, and he is hoping of improved performances over a period of time. “When we went to the West Indies last time we won the series. We will draw confidence from it and head into the upcoming tour,” Kumble told reporters during his first-ever press as India’s head coach, in Bengaluru on Wednesday. ALSO READ: Rohit Sharma upset over Ravi Shastri leaving Team India
“Indian team should do well in Test cricket. In the ongoing camp I am just trying to get used to the players; due to the rains around we might face difficulties in practising. But what I think is we have a good chance of emerging victorious and we will go with the mindset of winning the series (in West Indies),” he added.
India will be playing 4 Tests in the Caribbean in July-August 2016, following which they have as many as 13 Tests at home against Bangladesh, New Zealand, England and Australia.
