Following a year of successful tenure as Team India head coach, Anil Kumble stepped down from the role, after the conclusion of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. India will be off to West Indies without any coach, for their five-match ODI series and a one-off T20I, starting June 23. Although it was reported by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) last week that Kumble would continue his role during the West Indies tour, Kumble submitted his resignation on Tuesday. Following Kumble’s resignation for the head coach post, the place is up for grab, as few people have already shown interest for the role, with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, among others. Earlier on Tuesday, Team India had already left for the West Indies tour without the coach by their side, which led to speculations that Kumble could be stepping down from the head coach post. The speculations turned reality on Tuesday evening when Kumble did resign from the post.
