Following a year of successful tenure as Team India head coach, Anil Kumble stepped down from the role, after the conclusion of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. India will be off to West Indies without any coach, for their five-match ODI series and a one-off T20I, starting June 23. Although it was reported by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) last week that Kumble would continue his role during the West Indies tour, Kumble submitted his resignation on Tuesday. Following Kumble’s resignation for the head coach post, the place is up for grab, as few people have already shown interest for the role, with the likes of Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, among others. ANI, in a tweet, had stated, “Anil Kumble didn’t accompany Indian team to West Indies today, will join the team after attending ICC meeting in London: BCCI Sources”. “Kohli is very clear about where he stands vis-a-vis Kumble. It seems the relationship is beyond the repair stage, at least from Kohli’s side. However, the CAC will now meet Kumble and see if a patch-up is possible,” a BCCI official had told The Telegraph. Dignified to go @anilkumble1074 Our well-run cricket is now a man-made disaster. Like a patient a surgeon cut open, but can’t stitch back https://t.co/eFXXMW7vzH

@anilkumble1074 stepping down shows even CAC (Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman) failed to broker peace between him and Virat Kohli…

If it is true that @anilkumble1074 has stepped down as coach, Indian cricket has let itself lose an outstanding resource.
