Anil Kumble to deliver inaugural Jagmohan Dalmiya Memorial Lecture

The Jagmohan Dalmiya Memorial Lecture will be delivered on September 28, two days ahead of Test match against New Zealand.

India’s former cricketer Anil Kumble is spurring high with new responsibilities after being donned as the coach of national side and now he will be delivering the inaugural Jagmohan Dalmiya Memorial Lecture on September 28 at Eden Gardens, just two days ahead of Test match against New Zealand. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will be organising this lecture pretty similar to what was witnessed during the lecture of Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi Memorial Lecture done by BCCI or the Dilip Sardesai Memorial Lecture organised by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). However, CAB President Sourav Ganguly has confirmed the lecture will be organised annually. The association is waiting for revert from BCCI regarding this. Ganguly spoke to the reporters and said, “Anil Kumble will deliver the lecture. Now we have to take the permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to make the memorial lecture an annual affair. This will be the first time an annual lecture which is named after cricket administrator will be delivered in Indian cricket fraternity. Kumble is at the moment on a mission of India tour of West Indies with his side already leading by winning the first Test against West Indies. The second Test will begin from July 30 at Jamaica and India will hope to break more records and will this one as well in the process. Dalmiya, who headed CAB, BCCI and ICC during his administrative career, died at the age of 75 on September 20, 2015.
