Anjum Chopra to be honoured with Padma Shri on Republic Day

Former India women's captain to be honoured along with Yuvraj Singh.

Anjum Chopra, the former India women’s captain, has been awarded the Padma Shri on the occasion of India’s Republic Day. Yuvraj Singh is the other cricketer who has been named in the list this year.

 

Padma Shri is India’s fourth highest civilian honour and is bestowed upon the distinguished citizens. Chopra is one of the best women’s cricketer India has produced.

 

Chopra represented India in 12 Tests and 127 One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

 

She scored 2856 ODI runs  at an average of 31.38 with one ton and 18 fifties. In Tests, she has 548 runs with four fifties.
