New Delhi: BCCI president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke will be meeting members of the Supreme Court-appointed Justice RM Lodha panel in the capital on August 9 after being compelled to bring in the reforms due to a clear directive from the apex court. ‘ESPNCricinfo‘ reported that a meeting has been requested by the BCCI as a lot of state association officials are yet to get a hang of the SC order although the panel is expected to help the parent body of Indian cricket in implementing the reforms. The panel has already set the ball rolling as the Cricket Association of Bengal and Karnataka State Cricket Association’s elections have been frozen as per the SC directive on July 18. Similarly, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) elections which were held on July 19 electing a sitting state government minister Imran Raza Ansari has been declared null and void. Justice RM Lodha Committee brings good news for ex-cricketers through it’s reforms. They will have a say in the proceedings of the game. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to follow the guidelines provided by Lodha Committee. The guidelines will also be implemented by state associations like DDCA, MCA and others. The former cricketers will be given membership. Although, the maximum number of entries will come pouring from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) who have given 70 names of cricketers. The executive committee of every state association will also consist of a former player who will managing and representing the affairs of current players.
