England pacers got their lengths right as they managed to dismiss overnight batsman Steve Smith and Mitchell Johnson. Stuart Broad got the wicket of Johnson in the second over of the day. James Anderson managed to find a faint edge of Smith’s bat.

England pacers bowled full and got the ball to move a bit as cracks opened up on the Perth wicket due to extreme heat. After Joshnon’s dismissal, Anderson got a ball to move into Smith and Smith was beaten completely. The Umpire ruled it not out but ENgland went for a review. The reviews indicated a feather edge and the decision was overruled.
