The Australian media has claimed that the current temperatures at the Perth cricket ground during the third Ashes Test are not as brutal as the 50 degree temperatures players have contested in years ago.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, on the first day of the Test, 36 fans were treated for heat exhaustion and four taken to hospital and conditions were even more brutal on the second day. In October 2002 in Sharjah, Pakistan and Australia played the second and third matches of a series on the Arabian Peninsula when it was 51 degrees with high humidity, the report said.
