Graham Onions is in doubt for England’s fifth Ashes Test at the Oval starting on August 21 after breaking a little finger in Durham’s YB40 against Scotland.

The 30-year-old seamer was in Andy Flower‘s 13-man squad for the fourth Test at his home Emirates Durham ICG, but was left out of the side reports BBC.

Onions was part of 13-man squad at Chester-le-Street but failed to make it to the playing XI.

Onions has not played a single Test match for England since 2010 after he suffered a career-threatening back injury.

If not selected for England, Durham hope Onions will be fit for Surrey’s visit in the Championship on 22 August.
