Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the seventh Indian bowler to take five-for on Test debut in the first Test at the Kotla, here on Tuesday.
In total, seven bowlers have bagged five or more wickets on Test debut for India. The first bowler to achieve the feat was fast bowler Mohammad Nissar in India’s first Test match at Lord’s in 1932. The last one to was Amit Mishra against Australia at Mohali three years ago.
