Australian openers David Warner and Josh Inglis got things going with a 93-run stand in the opening Twenty20 match against the West Indies. Both of them have never opened together in T20Is, unleashed a furious attack during the Powerplay, scoring 77 runs, with Warner reaching his fifty in only 22 balls.
In the ninth over, Jason Holder made the first breakthrough when Josh Inglis hit a slower ball straight to mid-off for 39 (25).Mitchell Marsh, the captain of Australia, hit a deep square six before being caught behind for sixteen by the speedy Alzarri Joseph. Later in the over, Warner was out for 70 after gloving a short ball to Nicholas Pooran.

After hitting a six off the ground, Marcus Stoinis was removed from the game after holing out for nine runs the very next delivery. After mistiming a slog against seamer Romario Shepherd towards deep mid-wicket for ten, Glenn Maxwell also got dismissed.
