Australia spinner Nathan Lyon, who is set to play for in the fourth Test at Adelaide, said on Saturday that his side is expecting a backlash from the formerly ranked no.1 Test side, India.
“India’s a great side to play against. Even though we’re up three-nil, we’re expecting India to come out and hit us hard,” Lyon said.
“They have just been a great challenge for myself, being a young spinner and bowling against the best batters against spin. Their hands are unbelievable and they’re really confident against spin,” he was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.
The Australian off-spinner has sought help from spin legend Shane Warne to strengthen his preparations for the fourth Test.
Lyon’s bowling average shot up to 30.04 after nine Test matches, as he failed to impress in the first two Tests against India.
Lyon got one wicket for 91 runs in the first Test in Melbourne while he returned with 1/89 in the second match in Sydney before being sidelined by an all-out pace attack that delivered Australia victory and the Border-Gavaskar trophy by an innings and 37 runs in Perth.

“I had a brief chat to Warnie on the field after the game. He’s a legend of the sport and the best spin bowler in the world. I got a few little things from there so it was fantastic,” he added.
