Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh got Australia off to a positive start against India in their chase of 185 in the second T20 International (T20I) between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday. The duo took Australia to 48 for 0 at the end of four overs. Finch was on 34 off 18 balls, while Marsh was on 11 off 12 balls after two overs each from Ashish Nehra and Jasprit Bumrah. Earlier, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored half-centuries each as India scored 184 for 3 in their stipulated 20 overs, the highest T20I total at the MCG. Australia won the toss and put India in to bat, but Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan added 97 for the first wicket to get India off to a good start. Dhawan’s dismissal brought in Kohli, who started hitting the ball well and timing the ball wonderfully en route to his unbeaten 59 off 33 deliveries. Rohit was soon run out following a mix-up with Kohli. He had top-scored for India with 60 off 47 balls. Dhawan was out for 42 off 32 balls. MS Dhoni was dismissed for 14 off 9 balls in the final over. Live Cricket Blog: India vs Australia 2015-16, 2nd T20I at Melbourne
Scott Boland and Andrew Tye — two of Australia’s three debutants — started off well with economical first overs, Boland giving just one run, and Tye giving five. However, the third debutant, Nathan Lyon, had a nightmarish debut by giving 15 runs in the only over he bowled. Australia made six changes to their line-up from the one that lost the opening T20I at Adelaide to India.
