Australia opener D’Arcy Short signs with Durham for T20 Blast

Short will join fellow Australian Cameron Bancroft for the entire duration of the competition.

The Australian opener D’Arcy Short will have his first taste of playing franchise cricket in England after signing with Durham for the 2019 T20 Blast.

Currently ranked eighth in the ICC ratings T20I ratings, Short will be available for the entire T20 Blast for Durham who already have Australia’s Cameron Bancroft on their rolls. (READ: Cameron Bancroft signs for Durham)

“Playing in England is something I have wanted to do for a while,” said Short. “It’s very much a new experience for me and a challenge to play on some different grounds, wickets, pitches and against some new bowlers.”

Short was recently named Player of the Tournament in Australia’s Big Bash League after scoring a record 637 runs at 53.08, at a strike-rate of 140.61, for runners-up Hobart Hurricanes. (READ: Durham name James Franklin coach for two years)
