Australia pacer Ryan Harris had a scan on Monday on a tight right hamstring, which has put doubts over his availability for the third Test against Sri Lanka starting on Friday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
But skipper Michael Clarke is hopeful that Harris will get fit for the match.
“He’s a very strong bloke and he’ll do anything to get on the park. He has a bit of hammy stiffness, so he’ll have a scan just to find out if there’s anything there, but we’re confident if the scan shows nothing he’ll certainly be available for the third Test,” Clarke said.
“There were discussions about all the fast bowlers, having three back-to-back Test matches with big workloads on generally pretty flat wickets here,” he added.

The Herald Sun reported that if Harris is ruled out, 21-year-old James Pattinson will play in his first Test.
