Australia vs India 2nd Test Live Updates: Day 2 ends as India trails by 29 runs

The stumps have been called for Day 2, India managed to close in on Australia as they scored 128 runs. Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy will start batting on Day 3 as the team trails Australia by 24 runs.

Pacer Mohammed Siraj gets his first scalp of the innings, and it comes in the form of Alex Carey who departs after scoring 15 runs. Australia now stand on 282/6 after 77 overs and lead by 102 runs.

India’s nemesis strikes again as Travis Head reaches his century off just 111 deliveries in his hometown of Adelaide. In this wonderful knock, he has so far scored 10 boundaries and 3 sixes.

The veteran India spinner does the trick again for his side and dismisses Mitchell Marsh for 9 runs. Australia now stand on 208/5 after 63.4 overs and lead by 28 runs.

The second session has commenced here at the Adelaide Oval with Australia leading by 11 runs. Indian bowlers will be trying their best to not let the hosts take a big lead otherwise the match could very well go out of their reach.

It has turned out to be pretty even first session here at the Adelaide Oval on the second day. Australia scored 105 runs in the session while India picked up 3 wickets. The hosts head for lunch on 191/4, leading by 11 runs. Travis Head is batting on 53 while Mitchell Marsh is batting on 2.

Bumrah gets his and India’s third wicket of the innings in the form of Steve Smith, who continues his woeful Test form and departs after scoring just 2 runs.

The Indian pacer finally breaks the developing partnership between McSweeney and Labuschagne by dismissing the former for 39 runs. The next batter set to come in is Steve Smith.

The Australia batters and the Indian team have both taken the field here at the Adelaide Oval. The first ball of the day will be faced by Marnus Labuschagne and it will be pacer Mohammed Siraj, who will begin the proceedings for India.

The all-important second day is set to begin here at the Adelaide Oval. Currently, Nathan McSweeney is batting on 38 off 97 deliveries while Marnus Labuschagne is batting on 20 off 67 deliveries. On the other hand, the Indian bowlers will be looking to improve on their performance from the first day.
