Australia Women reclaimed the No. 1 spot in ICC ODI Rankings after beating England Women in the third ODI. Their archrivals are at the second position, with 2 points behind.

The multi-format Women’s Ashes 2017-18 started with a three-ODI series. After losing the first ODI England Women bounced back in the second game and levelled the series. However, Australia won the battle of nerves and edged out the visitors by 20 runs (D/L method) in the third and final ODI at Cuffs Harbour. Australia Women also secured 4 points in the new cycle of ICC Women’s Championship.

First-ever day-night Ashes Test

The focus now shifts to the first-ever day-night Ashes Test match. Speaking to cricket.com.au, Australia wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy says, “It’s a bit of an unknown heading into a day-night Test, how each team is going to play and how it’s going to look.”

Advantage Australia

“At the moment, us 2-1 up is a great start and it’s better than us being 2-1 down.

“It livens up the series again being 4-2 and reinforces how crucial this Test match is and everyone’s going to want that four points. Personally I’m really excited to be involved in this next period. The next two weeks are going to be really exciting and hopefully Australia can get up and get the points.”
