Baba Indrajith’s unbeaten 121 leads Tamil Nadu to 288/6 against Railways in Ranji Trophy 2015-16

New Delhi: Middle-order batsman Baba Indrajith hit a strokeful unbeaten century to help Tamil Nadu score 288 for six at stumps on the opening day of their Group B Ranji Trophy cricket match. Indrajith eneded the day unbeaten on 121 that came off 178 deliveries and was studded with 21 boundaries after Tamil Nadu was invited to bat at the Karni Singh Stadium. Besides Indrajith, skipper Abhinav Mukund made 49 off 117 balls opening the batting while Jagannathan Kaushik made 32. Wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik (27), Ramaswamy Prasanna (22) and Vijay Shankar (19) all got starts before perishing. At the close of play, Malolan Rangarajan was giving Indrajith company at the crease on 8. For Railways, pacer Anureet Singh (3 for 82) was the pick of the bowlers.

Baba Aparajith, who opened for Tamil Nadu, was out for just 3 while skipper Abhinav Mukund was scored 49. Dinesh Karthik did not do much either, and was out for 27. Vijay Shankar came in at No. 4 and scored 19 before Baba Indrajith came up with an excellent 121 not out. R Prasanna made 22 and J Kousik scored 32. For Railways, Anureet Singh was the pick of the bowling with 3 for 82, while RL Mali, Bhima Rao, and Ashish Yadav took a wicket each.
