PAKISTAN crushed Sri Lanka in the second Test by an innings and 222 runs to clean-sweep the hosts. Abdullah Shafique’s magnificent double century clubbed with Noman Ali’s seven wickets in the second innings helped Pakistan pick up a crushing win. The win has put Pakistan at the top of the WTC points table with 24 points.

Meanwhile, post the crushing win, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam made an adorable gesture and gave his jersey to a young cricket fan. The video is going viral on social media, with Babar getting praised for his humbleness.

Pakistan Shifts Focus On Asia Cup

Pakistan will now shift their focus on the Asia Cup which is set to get underway on August 30. The Men in Green will open their campaign against Nepal in Multan before taking on India in Pallekele.

The two arch-rivals are likely to face thrice in the Asia Cup. India and Pakistan are considerable favourites to make it to the Super 4s where they will clash again on September 10. The two teams are the strongest in the competition and are likely to play in the final.

IND vs PAK World Cup Match To Be Preponed On October 14

The teams will again meet on October 15 in the World Cup 2023 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, as per several reports, the date of the match could be preponed to October 14 on account of Navratri. BCCI secretary Jay Shah also confirmed that there will be a small change in the World Cup schedule as requested by a few member boards.

“We have received requests from 2-3 ICC member boards participating in the World Cup to make some changes to the schedule,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah told reporters. “What’s important for us is we don’t have to make any change in venues,” he added.
