Bahutule ton propels Vidarbha to 368 against Tripura

A brilliant unbeaten century by skipper Sairaj Bahutule helped Vidarbha take the crucial first innings lead against host Tripura in their Ranji Trophy Plate match at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Staidum on Thursday.

 

Resuming from the overnight score of 204 for 7, Bahutale scored unbeaten 134 from 198 balls with the help of 19 boundaries to help the visitors surpass the hosts first innings score of 281.

 

Vidarbha were all out for 368 runs in their first innings taking a lead of 87 runs.

 

For Tripura, pacer Rana Datta was the most successful bowler who took four wickets conceding 73 runs. Mani Singh also bagged three wickets for the hosts giving away 120 runs.

 

Trailing by 87 runs, Tripura scored 99 for 4 in their second innings at close of play on the third day of the four-day Ranji trophy match.

 

Vinayak Samant (33) and Debabrata Chowdhury (8) are in the crease. Vidarbha pacer Sandeep Singh took 2 wickets for 36 runs.
