Bangladesh reached two for no loss against Zimbabwe at lunch on the fourth day of the 2nd Test at Khulna. Earlier, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 368 earning Bangladesh a lead of 65 runs.

It was Zimbabwe, who started the day on 331 for the loss of five wickets with Hamilton Masakadza and Regis Chakabva batting on 154 and 75 respectively. However, the start was not fruitful enough as Masakadza was dismissed for 158 at the score of 336 by Shakib Al Hasan who bowled him over. Following his departure, the Zimbabwe innings started to collapse like a pile of cards with the lower order failing to perform against the Bangladesh bowlers. Batsmen Malcolm Waller, Tendai Chatara and Natsai M’shangwe were dismissed cheaply by Shakib and Rubel Hossain. Shakib as a result became the highest wicket-taker in the innings claiming five for 80.

However, it was Chkabva who finally brought up his maiden Test century at pressure situation with nine wickets down. Although, he was dismissed for 101 of Taijul Islam thus ending Zimbabwe’s innings on 368. Bangladesh who started their second innings of this match batted for just an over scoring two on the board without any loss with openers Tamim Iqbal and Shamsur Rahman.

Brief scores: Bangladesh 2/0 and 433 (Tamim Iqbal 0*, Shamsur Rahman 0*; E Chigumbura 0 for 2) lead Zimbabwe 368 (Hamilton Masakadza 158, Regis Chakabva 101; S Hasan 5 for 80) by 67 runs.
