Bangladesh register consolatory win in final ODI by 93 runs

Bangladesh registered a consolatory 93-run win in their fifth ODI against Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. The win had no consequence on the series as Zimbabwe won the five-match series by 3-2.

Batting first, Bangladesh scored 253 for six from their allotted 50 overs. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan played a fine innings of 79 off 71 balls, studded with five boundaries and a six. Mahmadullah also smashed a half-century scoring 60 off 67 balls with the help of five boundaries and a six.

Ray Price took three for 53.

In their reply, Zimbabwe managed to score only 160 runs from 38.2 overs. Malcolm Waller (51) and Vusi Sibanda (34) were the only two batsmen to have shown some fight.

Mahmadullah was impressive with the ball as well, taking three wickets for 13 from his four overs.
