Bangladesh batting department faced a collective failure once again and it only managed to put up 189 in board in their second and last warm-up game against Ireland ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Expectations were high from the Bangladeshi batsmen after a good show against a strong Pakistan bowling unit. But thanks to some brilliant display of swing bowling and some poor shot selections, resulted another batting collapse for the Asian side. It was a bright sunny day at the Blacktown Oval, Sydney, when Ireland skipper William Porterfield won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat first. Bangladesh received a early setback when their in-form opener Tamim Iqbal, got out cheaply. Mominul Haque, who came to bat at number three, also failed to cope up with early seam and swing bowling of the Ireland bowlers. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: SCHEDULE & MATCH DETAILS
After Mominul’s wickets, not out opener Anamul and youngster Soumy Sarkar, who was promoted to bat at number four, put up a decent partnership. It was Andrew McBrine who broke the 58-run stand between those two and that wicket of Anamul opened the floodgates. Just before getting a well-deserved half century, Soumya was run-out. After that no other batsman had shown any willingness to stay at the wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim tried a bit, but George Dockrell got him out. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: POINTS TABLE
Eventually Bangladesh failed to bat out their full 50 overs and posted a very modest total. John Mooney and Max Sorensen took three wickets each for Ireland. Other bowlers also supported them well. ICC Cricket World Cup 2015: Complete Coverage
