Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Asia Cup 2014 Match 5: Mominul Haque departs after half-century

Mominul Haque completed his second half-century in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

Mominul Haque was dismissed after completing his second half-century in One-Day International (ODI) cricket, as Bangladesh reached 88 for four after 25 overs in their chase of 255 in the Asia Cup 2014 match at Fatullah against Afghanistan.

Mominul faced 72 balls and struck six boundaries to achieve the feat on Saturday. But immediately after completing the half-century, Samiullah Shenwari cleaned him up to further damage the hosts.

Bangladesh need another 167 runs to win from  25 overs. Nasir Hossain was at the crease with Naeem Islam.

Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed by Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi as Bangladesh slipped to 71 for for three after 19 overs. Mushqifur and Mominul Haque added crucial 68 runs to revive their side, as they were reduced to 1/2 early in their chase.  Shapoor Zadran and Hamid Hassan had provided Afghanistan a strong start they removed Bangladesh openers.

Bowling over the wicket, the burly Afghan pacer troubled Shamsur throughout the over, getting one to nip back in into the batsman, hitting him high.  In the second over, Anamul Haque was trapped in front of the wickets by Hassan as Bangladesh were left reeling at 1/2 after two overs.

Earlier, Asghar Stanikzai and Samiullah Shenwari slammed brilliant half-centuries to lift Afghanistan to a daunting total of 255 against Bangladesh in their Asia Cup 2014 One-Day International (ODI) match, at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, on Saturday.
